September's artist of the month was Eric Carle. Eric Carle is best known for his children's books and illustrations.
We discussed the way that Mr. Carle would pre-paint his papers, then cut them into various shapes and create his artwork (collage). The students were excited to learn that Eric Carle is currently living in North Hampton , Massachusetts.
First graders created chameleons using chalk and tissue paper pieces.
Second graders created paper collage birds.
Third graders created their very own 'Very Hungry Caterpillars'.
Other art projects this month have been patterned leaves in oil pastel on black paper by grade 3. Symmetrical, radial designs in colored pencil by grade 5, as well as patterned letter designs. Fourth grade created “warm and cool colored horizons” on black construction paper, using construction paper crayons
