During the month of May, students studied impressionist painter Claude Monet. Monet was born in Paris in 1840. He helped to invent a style of painting called Impressionism. Monet was most famous for his paintings from his water gardens during the last 10 years of his life. Art classes focused on his 1899 painting "The Japanese Footbridge" as well as his "Water Lilies".
