"The generation of
Americans currently working their way through the nation's public education
system, will be greeted by enormous challenges as adults -- from paying for
the retirement of the "baby boomers" to shouldering the national debt, to
coping with global crises in the environment, healthcare, and energy.
They will need to do this while providing a livelihood for their families as
they compete with better trained and educated citizens of India, China, and
Europe. The very least we, as adults in America today, can do is to
provide these children some chance of success through properly funded
education. For all our sakes, let's live up to that responsibility." |

minds well by providing the best curriculum and instruction possible; b.)
create learning communities with children and adults to support intellectual
and social growth; and c.) have high expectations for all students and
commit to help each child produce high quality work.." |
